Space Battles episode 7: Some Power De-somnulates

We got fantastic seats to go see Episode 7 yesterday, since the Exton Movie Tavern just opened and not many people knew it was selling tickets yet. We still had to buy well in advance, but we were stoked to get center-middle seats next to some friends. It did nothing original, nothing new, it just mimicked all the plot beats of the first movie but at an inflated scale.
Also known as JJ Abrams' signature.

I'm sorry, that was mean wasn't it? I'm allergic to his movies since he destroyed the Star Trek reboot. It's good to see he hasn't wrecked another beloved space series.

Yeah, I didn't notice it until I mulled the movie over afterwards, but it has a distinct JJ Abrams smell to it. In the second Star Trek, we uh, had a bad-guy ship that could go Warp 10! And was bigger than any previous Starfleet ship ever despite being built in secret! And Benedict Bandersnatch can beat up whole platoons of armed Klingons bare-handed! And who really cares about any consistent universe lore, we have to give the kiddies what they liked before but pointlessly exaggerated to 5-6 times original scale even if that breaks the rules of the world! :P
