On the other hand, nowadays plenty of solo game designers sell their wares over the Internet. Yesterday's Zip-Loc is today's series of tubes.

Man, I also grew up with these games. Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one. I'm pretty sure Ultimas 6 and 7 are as rich and complex as the best literature is. And the Quest games might actually have made me a more creative thinker than school ever could. It's a shame that the graphics will keep future generations from even thinking of touching this stuff.
