This afternoon after warming up with some groundwork Lazarro and I did the Cloverleaf pattern again and after quite a few laps he finally stopped in the middle when I stopped with my body, no reins.  He licked and chewed so we went onto other things and ended pretty quickly ( Read more... )

It was much nicer today and I didn't feel like working on stuff with Lazarro, so I mostly just groomed him and spent some undemanding time with him which was good for both of us.  I tend to spend less undemanding time in the winter because you have to keep moving to keep warm so this was nice for a change.  He was a little bit sleepy so he went to ( Read more... )

Was it just yesterday that it was in the mid 30's and warm out?!  Wow, it sure cooled down fast.  Today it was mostly about -30 F windchill and right now we have a wind chill of  -45 F.  The actual temperature is -21 F but it's really windy too.  The horses were in the barn most of the day and they're in tonight, but I'll put them out tomorrow.  We ( Read more... )

Today was pretty warm again.  Mandy came down to Nita Jo's with me this time, but she didn't bring a horse, so she is playing with one of Nita Jo's horses, Blue.  We started out in the play area and I used the 45' line.  I've pretty much switched over to using the 45' all the time now because of it's lightness; you don't feel like you're dragging ( Read more... )

The weather was much warmer today so I spent 2 hours playing with Lazarro.  First we played in the play area by the barn on the 45' line, being creative wih the various obstacles out there.

Wow, it's been awhile since I've updated.  It's been very cold, but I've still been able to go out and play with Lazarro.  We've been having trouble with the heating system in the apartment, so Kelly and I have spent some cold days, but now it's fixed, so we're happily warm again ( Read more... )
