I'm not surprised. ^^ horrible_penny November 19 2009, 03:17:48 UTC
Yeah. It's an American thing where we get together with our families, have a giant dinner, and think about how lucky we are for the things we have. And then we eat leftover turkey until Christmas.

The one with the pilgrims and the Native Americans? I don't know how I feel about that story, considering what happened to the Native Americans.

Ha, Thanksgiving sounds absolutely marvellous. It's really just an excuse to eat massive amounts of food, isn't it? I could even help out, if you'd like.

Well, it's supposed to be about more than the food, but the food's super important. Would you really help? Can you cook?

Oh, yes, "giving thanks."
Of course I'll help. Not to boast but not only do I cook, I think I'm probably rather good at it. Just tell me what you need. Where are you thinking of holding the event?

Yep, that.

Great--thank you! You don't need to do anything you're not totally willing to do. I don't want this to be a hassle for anyone. And I was thinking in the Welcome Center? It could be a tight fit if more than ten people show up, but it's convenient enough.

You wouldn't rather be at home putting people back together?

If that's what it takes to lure you to a Thanksgiving dinner, there'll be cornbread dressing.

I don't know if this is the best place to clear your head.

You know... it didn't occur to me to flat-out ask.

I think that's a splendid idea! Celebrating Thanksgiving all around would be a great plan for all.

'm sure the ducks'll be alright, Penny.

...what's Thanksgiving 'xactly?

I guess so. The other ducks do okay.

It's a big--well, not big, but a lot of people celebrate it--American holiday where everyone gets together with family and eats turkey and pumpkin pie and things like that. It's all about being grateful for what we have, even if we don't have all that much.

You'd come then, even if it's just a small dinner?

I'd really like it if you did. You're City-family, you know.
