Is it possible to restore a draft?

I am sick. I just spent over 2 hours drafting a post and selecting photos. After I got into the FAQs to see again how to do the lj-cut in the rich text format, I tried to return to the draft, but I can't find it. Searching under terms "saved draft" or "restore" didn't get me there, nor did my attempts at the back button. Ironically, when I went to ( Read more... )

I wish I knew how. But you do have my sympathies.

BTW, a way to avoid this in the future (if you use IE), is to right click on whatever link it is you want to open, and choose "open in new tab" or "open in new window." That way you can leave the entry you're working on as is, while looking up whatever else it is you need to.

I know that's no help for your current problem. :-(

Thanks, Mmegaera. I'm sure I knew to do that when I was posting regularly, but I thought that something must have changed, because there was a thingie showing the time of autosave...

Oh no! I'm so sorry! And I don't know how many times I've done that, not just in LJ, but in emails. If that helps at all....

It made me feel like SUCH a stupid dork! Writing takes me a long time, and I had carefully drafted a (to me) amusing essay about stuff going on. Thank God I called Alec in and read it to him for giggles before I tried to add pictures, so it wasn't *totally* wasted.

I wonder if the pictures uploaded from the gallery. If so, maybe I'll just post them. Grrrr. Arggg.
