In the
Huffington Post:
At a rally on Saturday in California, Sarah Palin offered up a rather jarring argument for supporting the Republican ticket. "There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't support other women," the Alaska Governor said, claiming she was quoting former Clinton Secretary of State Madeleine Albright...Actually, Albright didn't say that. The accurate quote is, "There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't help other women." (Sources made the same point to CBS's Scott Conroy.)
Huh. So that's why women end up in Hell. Guess I've been reading the wrong Bible. Someone needs to let God He's been going about it all wrong.
I am disgusted and offended beyond words by this. Not only has Palin earned her ticket to Hell by not supporting women in the past, making herself a hypocrite, but she totally and completely cheapened what being President and VP is suupposed to be about by making it all about having tits, a twat, and two X chromosomes.
ETA: This is the letter I just sent to McCain/Palin via the messaging feature on their website:
There's a special place in Hell reserved for women who don't support other women? Guess you'll be there, Palin, since making rape victims pay for their own rape kits is anything but supportive. You are beyond disgusting and reprehensible, cheapening and reducing the decision of who to vote for to tits, a twat, and two X chromosomes. So I'm going to go to Hell because I'm not behind you 110% percent? I'm supposed to automatically support anyone who's vaginally-enhanced like me, no matter if I agree with where they stand or if I think they're qualified or not? That's the worst reason I have ever heard to vote for someone. I guess I credited you and McCain with more intelligence and sense than you possess, because I thought you two would be smart enough not to intentionally do anything to show the nation that the real reason you were tapped is because you have a vagina, not because you're actually capable of leading and have the intelligence and qualifications to do so. You're even less qualified to lead than George W. Bush and that's saying a lot, considering the damage he's done in the last eight years. I used to be a proud Republican but after what Bush and Cheney have done, I want nothing to do with the GOP. I'm a conservative Christian, by the way.
If there's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't support other women, you might want to let God in on that, since I'm pretty sure He's still using the 'do you know Christ as your Savior' criteria. New Bibles will need to be issued as well so Christians don't continue to operate under the delusion it's about Christ, rather than which sperm reached your mother's egg first.
Women don't support you for the same reasons women don't support male candidates, and why men don't support female candidates: we don't think they're qualified, we disagree with their positions and stands on various issues, we think the other candidate(s) would be better for the job. We use our *brains*, Palin. We evaluate candidates without respect to their gender and/or skin color. Saying that being fair-minded will land you in Hell is insulting. If you want to increase your support base, try not telling us is all about the vagina. That's not why some of us supported Hillary (I wasn't one of those women) and that's not why we'd support you. Unlike you, we know it's about what's between your ears, not what's between your legs.
