Yet another Hope/Lightning fanfic...

Warning: Language, explicit sexual content and dubious consent. Beware the mood whiplash. And Lightning is not at all a nice person in this fic. This is also not a romance.

Oh, man, this was like watching a train crash at the end. But it (the emotional fall-out; guilt, responsibility (super glad Lightning had that), love confession) was great, and i don't see this kind of fall-out in fanfic often, so it's appreciated. I don't suppose there's a sequel?

No, there won't be a sequel. I don't think Lightning deserves a happy ending after what she's done.

She's not the type of person who would deflect responsibility, either. It does make me wonder, though, how things would've worked out had she left Hope to believe that he was the culpable party. Too bad it's OoC.

I think this was the exact sort of fic I'd wanted to read for this pairing, but I didn't know until I read it. The whole seduction - or rather, Lightning steamrolling Hope into sex - was breathlessly erotic, but the real value came from the absolute sucker punch of emotions at the end. We all knew the morning after would be awkward, but that utter betrayal felt by Hope was a powerful, powerful thing - more powerful I think that any other possible scenario. And Lightning's guilt, too, when she realised the enormity of what she'd done, was visceral and somehow satisfying

Here's a confession for you: I conceived of this story while brainstorming scenarios in which Light and Hope have sex. This one turned out to be the most plausible. It'd be character assassination of the highest order to make Lightning fall for a boy who she'd essentially adopted, so I figured they could only get hot and dirty while she's piss-drunk.

Naturally, the aftermath took a life of its own. I've portrayed a harder version of Lightning, yes. This Lightning prefers to divorce sex from love, not realizing that one equated the other in Hope's case. And soft spot for Hope or no, she's too wary of the implications involved with romance to do nothing but handle his feelings very, very badly.

I enjoy heartbreakers too.

This is just awesome. This is one of only two ways I've thought the sexual side of the relationship would work. =( I just wanna hug Hope now and tell him it's gonna be ok. Bless him.

I get the impression that you don't really like Lightning, but perhaps you do in general and only made her unlikable in this fanfic in order for the events of the fanfic to happen?

Lightning is in fact my favourite character. It is just that I have never perceived her to be a 'nice' person in any sense of the word. This fanfic strives for reality, the most plausible situation in which Lightning and Hope can have a sexual encounter. Unfortunately, it would appear that Lightning's lesser qualities have taken precedence here.
