“The nun who found us was named Harriet Gray,” said Emerson with a shy smile, “We only had our first names, so she gave us her last.”
That is the sweetest, loveliest, most kindhearted thing ever. I feel like I want to meet this woman who, in her own way, birthed Emerson and Lawrence.
I do wonder if Merlin ever feels jealous that it's Emerson who gets Arthur now, and not him?
Other things I loved:
- Emerson being his own person with his own feelings and wanting to be courted, damn it.
- Arthur falling in love with all the different incarnations of Merlin in their own right. I take it he's a bit like the Doctor? The same man, over and over again, just in different forms. Different aspects of himself, as I like to see it.
