On a lighter note, I've started going through the crap in the soon-to-be-nursery room. I took some pictures of the before. Yipes... We have a lot of stuff to go through/get rid of/re-organize. This was formerly the junk room and where all my 'puter stuff was. The computer is staying, but we need to go to IKEA and get a desk that will allow me ( Read more... )

wow! That's what our room was looking like and now my (formerly clean) office looks like a half-dump. We too painted our paneling - it took two coats of primer and needs a second paint coat - but worth it because wood is too dark :-) good luck :-)

Wow. We are living paralell lives. I should share with you our soon to be nursery as well (which is currently an office with both our computers on 2 desks, 3 huge bookshelves, some 2 books deep as well). Freaky. Actually, it makes me feel better to know that you both will be tackling this project as we do the same. Well, let's be honest. I'm leaving for a month, and DP is going to do the redeco. Both our computers are staying on a long desk/table and the bookshelves. We just gotta fit a crib, chest of drawers and a changing table in there.

Best of luck to you both! We will save a bit for ourselves too!

Our "second bedroom" that will (darnit!!) be a baby room someday is getting full already and we have only lived here since september. It is currently my sewing/music/crafting/whatever room - and the quilting is totally taking over. Looks like you guys have crazy amounts of books like we do. Two graduate degrees = extensive library.

I love seeing pics of the inside of other people's houses. I'm so nosy.

Good luck.

yeah, the books are out of control. what you don't see there is the grid-like ikea bookshelf in my office that has my more "pressing" dissertation related books. btw, i love seeing other people's houses as well, and thus i am, oh, about 100% mortified that there is now Interneted documentation of The Disaster called "to-be baby room."

GL back to you concerning the quilting stuff.
