(I did see SNSD on a massive screen advertising LG phones in the airport this morning, though.)
Can't make myself actually sit down and write a normal post, so here's another list:
- I'm okay.
- I'm at orientation in Jeonju.
- We did some sightseeing in Seoul yesterday, went to see the massive statue of King Sejong and Gyeongbokgung Palace. I took an

Orientation will be over soon and then you'll be teaching! This is exciting!
I'm sorry your anxiety and such has been nagging at you a bit, just remember to breathe and every day is a new day to try to adjust. You can do it! I promise if you come to Gwangju to visit some day I'll order us McDonald's and we'll feel kinda super American :P

hopefully you'll slowly get used to the food and stuff? like, there are some american-ish things you can find! and I'm srsly if you ever visit you we'll order pizza hut one night and McD's another night if you want! :P
and as for always being like this, maybe now will become a good time for you to be more outgoing when it comes to food? there is a lot of trial and error here and you'll find smth you like for sure ^^
i'm sorry you're feeling this way, it can only get better though! <3

I'm glad you got there safely and that your roommate is nice! Roommates can make trips abroad (or living anywhere, really) either an even more wonderful experience or a totally shitty one, so I'm really glad that you got a decent one!
I'm sorry you're feeling anxious about food, though :( I would pretty much NEVER eat in a cafeteria or restaurant by myself because I worry people are looking at me I guess (although if I'm with friends I don't worry about them looking at me and can just eat normally, idek!). And I totally feel you on the trying new foods thing, especially in public :| Will you have to eat at the cafeteria the whole time you're there or is there any way you could buy simple stuff to cook? Either way I hope that situation improves ♥
I agree orientation generally sucks! At least that particular suffering will be over soon and then you can start working, which I hope will be really fun and fulfilling and pleasant for you!
ICE CREAM SANDWICHES OMG ;______;

me too! i was really nervous because some people got to pick roommates, and the two british girls i'd been hanging out with roomed together, so i was like "oh great, of course i'm the odd one out," but i got really lucky. :)
there's no cooking facilities, but there are a lot of convenience stores nearby so i'll probably just live off of my stash (chocolate digestives, cashews, shortbread, pepero) and grab some chips or something. i am mortally afraid of getting sick in public, which i think is the main motivation behind me not wanting to eat anything i'm not familiar with.
i'll be happy just going to lectures, honestly. i just need to have something to DO besides sit around and worry.
