P.S. I was under the impression that John was the younger brother in Outcast.

According to Joe Mallozzi, John was the elder brother. Dave's resentful comments about John being away so long and Dave having to take over the family business would seem to imply that John was the one who had been expected to do that.

I was working with what I know of fandom canon (as I am a little lemming), so that's how John ended up as an older brother and Elizabeth as a single child.

I figured that it was worth exploring the idea that they have had worse endings than the one given to them in SGA cannon. Then since I've been a long-time John/Elizabeth writer, I had to give them a happy ending after all their suffering/angst. =)

You already know that I love this, but seriously, it still gives me chills each time I read it.

I did just catch one mistake that I made last night when I edited the first sentence in the fifth paragraph of the third section; it needs an "a" between "their memory faded into" and "romantic tale." Sorry about that :)

There were a few more incarnations of John and Elizabeth, but since I didn't want to overload the story with angst (and it wasn't the point of the storyline), I stuck with exploring how reincarnation fits in with the idea of soul mates. The two of them aren't quite "destined" for each other, but they're definitely always attracted to each other.
