whether Judas Iscariot had God on his side

Why should the leaders of the early Christian church have structured the church around "gospels" that they -- rightly -- considered unreliable? Such "gospels" were written several decades after the New Testament Gospels. Historians today have affirmed the selection, as they widely affirm the uselessness of the later "gospels" in learning anything about Jesus.

Of course, if you want to structure your own church around late-written gospels that have no historical value for understanding Jesus, then feel free. But there is no historical basis for criticizing the early Christian church for not using these "gospels."

Thanks Anonymous poster. I'm glad you weighed in on my opinion. I wasn't saying they should structure their church around them, but disregarding them completetly was, in my opinion, a mistake. I have no belief system. I don't have to prove to you anything about how great my religion is because again, I don't have one. I was simply stating that it is my opinion that these ancient texts should have been given some credence.

That's OK though. Close your eyes and pray real hard. I'm sure you'll get to heaven by posting sarcastic remarks in people's livejournal.
