So I had a very long update post all ready to go. It was exhilarating and touching and informative (it had a lot of capslock, anyways). I EVEN WROTE SOME PORN IN IT.
Yay for writing long pieces! I can't wait to read them.
Thank you! :D I'm having a lot of fun, but it really is a new experience for me - I've never written anything longer than, like, 4k that wasn't divided into parts or chapters - so doing long, uninterrupted narratives is new and exciting and just a liiiiittle bit terrifying...
You are welcome for the rec - thank you for the meta! <3
Long pieces -- heh: You are good enough that it's time to push yourself. And you can tooooootally do it! You are MADE OF AWESOME. AND PORN!
Wisdom teeth and Dreamwidth: FUCK YOU!
Kirk: Yeah, fuck you, Kirk. Yeah....
Neal: Attta boy! bottom from the Top already! ;-9
You working at home: YES!!! Join me in my jammie splendor! :-D
Asi's meta: ROCKED.
That characters talking to fans thing: We'll see. ;-) I have a funky feeling about it. Like maybe talking to my friends in a sexy way, even as a character, might get, as you would say, aaaaawkward. Plus, I only got 3/4 of my frickin soc paper done yesterday, so I am made of work again today.
I don't know how old you are, but if you don't totally procrastinate like I did, you can get them fairly easily removed before you're twenty-five.
I called the oral surgeon. He said if I get $370 to pay upfront, I can do small monthly payments. Bless him. And since I'm staying awake, it'll knock another 200 bucks off the surgery, so it'll only be $1450 total.
Yay?
Anyways, I hope your mouth feels better. -hugs-
AND THEN DREAMWIDTH ATE IT.
I feel ridiculously pleased that this has happened to someone else now. :-)
The more complicated procedures can be more expensive, and it of course depends on where you go. Shop around, and if you can tolerate dental work without sedation, that really cuts down on the cost (and recovery time!).
I have the distinct pleasure of having had double wisdom teeth on the bottom -- I don't know how, but I did. I had two of the extras removed when I was 18 (too poor to pay for all of them at the time) and it was really not that bad.
I mean, it wasn't fun, but when is dental work ever fun? :p

1,450 is a lot less scary than the 2-3k I thought it was going to be - I've still got my fingers crossed that I'll make it to August, tho! :D
