Knock, knock on the door, just to be polite.

"Tony."

"Hey, Ender," Tony said, glancing up from the computer screen. "What's up?"

Have you come to stop him from creating the most dangerous AI in the universe?

Jane would insist that she was the most dangerous AI in the universe.

"Just checking in," Ender supplied, "Seeing if you're embarking on any mad science."

It would be an epic tussle, that's for sure.

"Only a little bit of it's mad," Tony promised solemnly.

Topher was a civilized, polite human being who knew better than to yell across a hallway early on a weekend. Really.

And yet.

"Hey Tony, whatcha doing?" he called from his room.

Well, dorm life. You got used to that when being around people so long. A message came the message that popped up on Topher's computer.

You also got used to people crying in the hallway at two in the morning oh god why.

"What--" Topher started, then thought better of it and typed out a response instead.

brinkofgenius: Whatcha coding?

Because Topher was learning!

AccidentallyTheWhole: A new AI system.

There was a moment before...

AccidentallyTheWhole: Want to help?

Taking a very deep breath, Karla knocked on Tony's door. It had been several weeks since their, ahh, discussion and Karla wasn't entirely sure how things stood between them. Likely...not well.

Which was rather unfortunate, considering she had a favor to ask of him.

Hopefully that favor would go a ways towards soothing that rift, too. "Uhh, Tony?" she asked, poking her head through the door. "It's Karla. May I come in a moment?"

"Yeah?" Tony asked, looking up from his computer for a moment before the expression went cool and serious.

"I have a favor to ask of you," Karla said simply, standing in his doorway and not coming in any further. "I've been talking to people about Topher after you and I spoke. And...it's become very apparent that I owe him an apology."

Mother Night, how she loathed those words. But when an apology was due, she sucked it up and dealt.

"Really?" Tony asked dryly. "Why the change of heart?"

It had been a week since, well, the crazy weekend, and Billy hadn't really had a chance to talk to Tony without alcohol being involved. So, he decided to see if Tony was in his room, and when he saw him at his computer, he hesitated for a moment before knocking on the door. "Hey," he said. "Am I interrupting anything?"

"Nah, just doing some coding," Tony replied, putting it to the side.

"Ooh, important coding or fun coding?" he asked, coming in despite the answer.

"A little of both," Tony admitted. "For certain projects to work right, I need and AI."
