Turmoil!

So I sit here at my lunch break at home, thinking weather I'll have a job. A bunch of shit went down today involving our executive director getting fired for no reason at all. Not just my boss but a good friend. The board couldn't come up with a reason to fire him and still continued to do so anyway

Wow I'm sorry hun ... that really sucks. I've been through a similar situation with a previous employer and I ended up just leaving the company from fear of instability.
Hope it all turns out well.

Unfortunately Calif is an "at will" state. You can be fired for any reason outside of race/sex/religion/sexual orientation, technically. Unless you're under express contract there's no legal action you can take for wrongful termination. I called a free legal service up here last time I was fired under false accusation of racism by some girl I turned down for a date. Officially they didn't fire me, the discontinued my assignment and refused to reassign me. Crappy law, but it's California.
