Following Draco's acceptance to come out to the manor, Theodore had been a flurry of nervous action, realizing the state he was in: haggard, unwashed, unshaven - he'd quickly gotten himself to rights and ordered the elves to clean up the rooms he'd been so callously neglecting by his presence, removing the spilled ink and broken glass where he'd thrown several of his inkpots against the study wall in anger.
Fully self-possessed once more, Theodore had been waiting in his bedroom with a book for Draco to arrive, but as the hours dragged on, exhausted finally overtook him and he'd fallen asleep, sprawled out on top of the bedclothes with Water for Hippogriffs inches from his outstretched fingers

Draco couldn't help a chuckle of his own at seeing Theodore's ruffled hair and sleepy expression. "You look fifteen years younger like that, you know."
He dropped his satchel and fell into an armchair, stretching out his legs, and looked at Bitty. "I think tea might be a good idea, or something more along adult lines. Whatever you think is appropriate, if you would?"
Once she'd left, he raised an eyebrow and studied Theodore. "And then you can tell me why I'm here with a bag full of tricks."
Theodore's cheeks coloured and he sat up in bed, passing a hand over his face, still disorientated. "I was...I feel asleep." He knuckled his eyes. "Sorry, Draco..." He picked up a glass of water from the nightstand, took a long swallow. "I...have a locked door." His expression darkened involuntarily. "A door my father locked. I went to...to see him. He wouldn't tell me, though...how he'd..." He shook himself and looked Draco in the eye. "It's my mother's room, Draco. I need to get in there."
