Remus was a little nervous, despite himself. For Merlin's sake, he was a grown man and nearly fifteen years her senior. Why did the thought of being with this woman make his stomach do flip-flops? Was he too old to be dating her? Perhaps she went for distinguished men. He wasn't really 'distinguished,' though. He was just Remus. Somehow, though, this young witch - she made him feel that that was enough, that he was more a man, somehow, when he was around her.
He'd put together a simple, but relatively classic pullover and denims that he'd managed to keep clean and without holes. He felt he looked well and hoped Dora would notice his effort. He even brought her some flowers. He knocked on the door and waited for her response. She'd told him their date was going to be a surprise, someplace he'd never been before.
Remus waited patiently at the door for Dora, his stomach tying itself and untying itself in pretty little sailor's knots. He tossed his head gently to get the fringe out of his eyes, and turned to the door with a smile and knocked on it with gentle force.
