5th Kata [Action for house 55, backdated to the 29th,]

Jul 30, 2011 22:25

[Even with nothing going on, it's been a rough few days for the residents of house 55. It's like some cruel twist in a game. They were finally getting their acts together, and work as a team once again, back to being brothers. Then they woke up to Raphael gone. Mikey was the first to notice, waking up to a bare room. His freaking out had woken up ( Read more... )

this just gets better and better, home sweet home?, !voice, !action

[It's in one of the rare, calmer pauses in the general chaos of the experiment that Robert sees the message from Leo.

It hits him harder than he expected, though most of it is for Don's sake. One of his brothers - one of the people he loves - snatched away from him... it has to hurt. And it has to hurt for his other brothers and father, too. The whole thing just... sounds painful and he doesn't really know what to say to Leo at first.]

...

I... I know I cannot be much assistance, especially now, but... if your family needs anything, Leonardo, I will try my best to... assist.

[Though he'll certainly give them a wide berth if they'd rather have that instead. He just... wants to be supportive, if he can.]

[It hurts, it really does. To know that Raph might never come back, and if he does he might not even remember being here before. But it's some comfort to know that he's no longer subjected to the Malnosso's cruel experiments.]

Thank you, Robert.

[That is at least one good thing. Especially considering the horrifying vivisection they performed on him. If there's anything positive about being sent home...]

It is the least I can do for... f-for your family, especially after all you have done for me.

[He tries to keep his voice steady, more for Leo's sake than his, though Leo is probably better at weathering this sort of thing to begin with. No need to add to his burdens, though.]

... Are the rest of you... s-safe in this chaos, at least?

[He's trying to weather it. But nothing can prepare you to possibly never seeing your brother again.]

We were unaffected until this morning sometime. [He wonders what's coming next. First the house turns into their old lair, now what?]

If I may ask, wh-what exactly happened to your home, if anything...? [The first thing Robert worries about is whether the barrier is still there. And if it is, what happened to it? Has it been distorted by the simulations? Or is it clipping through them like they aren't even there? Or has it just been completely destroyed?

He seriously hopes that hasn't happened, because the last thing the Turtles need is to be in serious danger.]

It's...turned into one of our lairs, the one we lived in as kids. [Their childhood lair, where they'd grown up, and learned so much It was simple, but it was their home.

He'll switch it to video, panning around to see. Pretty much just one large concrete and brick room. Off to one side are two sets of bunk beds with thin mattresses, a couch that looks more like the backseats to a car with a small tv in front of it. Some things for training around it too. There's three doorways in the back too.]

((OOC: And for visual help, have This, This, and This. Just, you know, ignore Splinter and the adorable chibis. xD))

[Robert takes in the view of the house with some mixture of interest and sadness. This is not exactly what he'd consider optimal living. But at the same time, it shows the tenacity and resourcefulness of the family, and he can't help but feel a strange sense of warmth seeing it.

But... it must be painful to see these things with one member gone.]

At the least it seems... peaceful...

[There's nothing dangerous as far as he can tell. And the Hamatos deserve a break.]

[No, it's definitely not optimal living, specially by human standards. It's dank, dirty and dark with no windows. The only light sources are the lamps and such that are around the room. He turns it back to himself.]

For now. [Hopefully that won't change.] I wish Raph was here to see it, though. [He says it softly. Even Raph probably would have loved to see the old lair. His absence definitely puts a damper on it.

[The "for now" is ominous. Robert can't help but remember dealing with the non-human sapients in Terran simulations, and how much it made him sick to see them acting so oddly.]

...

I wish he was with you as well, even though... that might be selfish of me to say.

[He didn't mean for it to be so ominous. Though the way this place works, anything could happen.

He gives a sigh.]

He's better off at home. [He just has to keep telling himself that. Even if they have to hide on their world. It's better than being here, better than being little more than test subjects for cruel scientists.]

[In some ways, at least when they're all test subjects they all have equal standing. Equally low standing, but equal standing. The Malnosso don't segregate according to species.

They hate everybody equally. Except the Third Party.]

... I... I suppose so.

[If Leo was nearby Robert might want to give the turtle a hug. As it is, though, he just traces his fingers over the journal page.]

[Leo wouldn't take the hug anyway, he's not the hugging type. Unless you're his brothers, father, or a close friend. Luceti is truly a paradise. But the price for it is quite high. He closes his eyes for a moment.]

How are you holding up?

Other than the... strangeness of this latest phenomenon, I have been faring well enough so far.

It has been... i-interesting to see Terra again... albeit in a very strange fashion. [And full of things that want to kill him.]

Oh? What was strange about it?

Usually the simulations... generate only in pieces. Sometimes practically b-bisecting another simulation...

... and, and there are many aggressive s-simulated beings that have appeared... some of them are from Terra, but others are from c-completely different places.

[He opens his eyes, and listens to the explanation with a nod.]

I've heard of people being attacked. [Another reason he's kept them indoors, away from this craziness.]
