We opened our home to a thousand people on Saturday as a stop on the 2013 Austin Modern Homes Tour. Getting ready entailed a month of intense preparation including sheet rock replacement for settling cracks and repainting the office and hall. I am working a feather itself into a composition. I drew with the feather in acrylic paint on the beach. Then I washed the feather in sea water. But the paint did not all wash away so the feather is ( Read more... ) -
Indigo
I'm trying to overlay indigo washes on a bunch of paintings but I'm finding that liquitex and golden indigo which I happen to have are not really indigo in feeling and in weirdness. So tomorrow I'm going to buy some W&N Indigo. I hope W&N indigo acryl is as wierd as their indigo watercolor. Anyway I'm having a good time trying to recall the ( Read more... ) -
Gluing the beach to the sportscars
Today I am going to affix some of my beach pictures to the underwater sportscar series paintings.
Next I will take some to be matted and others I'll put on foam core for the WEST tour in the spring.
