Nasty, but logical. Makes a lot more sense than Nicodemus trying to rescue her, which I suspect will soon become a common plot.

I just wondered what choice Deirdre ever had, with parents like Nicodemus and Tessa. Uriel just gives her some home truths now that she can't ignore them and there's no one to stop her from listening.

I think Nick would try to rescue her, but the Underworld is a prison for souls even harder than Demonreach. Not sure he has a chance.

I never really considered Deirdre as a child, but yeah, she wouldn't have had much chance with parents like those.
Free will exists even in Hades, but will Deirdre be able to choose the path of redemption? Interesting.
