I liked it, but I was left wanting more.

Those were most of my thoughts exactly. It wasn't a bad flick. I actually enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised. ;)

Yep, you are telling most of my thoughts, here. And from an interview with the writer, you may be right about the running time... there was a lot more training of Snow White in the original script, and it got cut out. Which would have made the film much better.

The director is going to be one to watch, too. The visual reminded me of Pan's Labyrinth, which is only a good thing. :)

Yes, I agree with just about everything here. I liked this film, but I was frustrated that it didn't fully live up to its best bits. It really needed more development of Snow White (training for battle and generally showing why she ought to be queen besides blood right and not being Ravenna). The dialog was also not the best.

Still, it was visually gorgeous with some interesting world-building, and Charlize was excellent as Ravenna. I also really liked that Snow was often shown with dirty fingernails and hair that hasn't been brushed in a while, looking like she had actually been wandering around the wilderness. Being pretty and pure of heart doesn't mean being magically dirt-repellent. I also loved that they chose to not show Snow ending up with either William or the Huntsman. Getting a man was never the point of her story in this movie.
