There was coverage on public radio here, both on the recovery efforts for people & on the aftermath of the nuclear plant meltdown.
I hadn't heard about the NOAA cuts. Damn, but people can be stupid & shortsighted. PBS had a program about the tsunami that included measures taken on the west coast of the US, but I don't think it talked about cuts to the programs.
