[Gale sighs, making a gesture reminiscent of pushing glasses up on the bridge of his nose] Attention to the residents of... "Somarium". The Embryon are well aware that the incident that has just occurred is outside of human social norms. That much is obvious from your reactions ( Read more... )

If it cannot be cured, and nothing helps except the consumption of human flesh ... then you are saying that you have no recourse but to eat people?

That is utterly unacceptable.

You have alternatives in mind?

Several. None of them would be pleasant for you.

So your alternatives include killing us.

Your logic is faulty. We did not ask for this curse, nor do we take pleasure in what we must do to survive. And we did not intend to kill that man. It was dishonorable. But we had no control of our actions, as stated.

You would kill the sick, if their illness caused them to inflict harm on others?

Just because there was no method to control your demonic side in your own world doesn't mean that there won't be a way to do so here. Admitting defeat will be the end of your life.

If you know of a method, then disclose it.

The Embryon will not acknowledge defeat, even if we are dead. We have too many obligations.

If pills can be taken to quench the thirst for blood... then the scientists here should be able to do the same for cannibals.

It's not a perfect fix, but definitely worth looking into.

I see. Is there a particular scientist who has devised these supplements?

[He sighs heavily, with a light tint or irritation. That's pretty much what he wanted to know from the start.]

Finally, someone who's not afraid to explain. Thank your for clarifying, when some of your friends failed to do so.

This is just the way you are, then. If you may, two questions.

First, from what I have heard, you have devoured others before in Somarium. What usually happens to the dead, in that case? I'm new here, and only caught on a few lines of some rumor about 'dying but not really'. It is possible to obtain more details about that?

Second, mostly out of curiosity. Let me know if you do not wish to answer this. So how was your home world? From the sound and looks of it, whatever that forced you to become cannibalistic demons and constantly defend your peers from danger isn't something that a normal person would know much about. It may justify better why you do what you do, though.

I am officially in charge of negotiations for a reason.

...as for what happens to the dead, I cannot say. Those who we have eaten are digested...that is all I know of.

[And insert a quick recap of the entire plot of DDS 1, because the mun is so very lazy. It's in his profile though!]

It's a very good thing that they have you, then.

I suppose. Maybe it'll vary for those who die from pierce and slash wounds.

[Well that was somewhat confusing, but sure, explains a few coupla things/a lot. You live in a damn weird world, buddy.] So it really is none of your fault. That's a terribly apocalyptic world you come from.

That set aside, you probably don't need me to repeat this, but you're facing two major issues now. First, an angry and indignant mob of people, and second, just what happened to make you all lose control at the same time. An alternate source of sustenance aside from humans would probably be nice to think about as well.

What do you think would be the easiest issue to tackle here, then?

For now? Seeking an alternate source of nutrition. That would likely eliminate at least one of the major issues here. And perhaps ease tension between the humans here and the Embryon.

Hm...so you're the ones causing all the fuss?

It might be put that way, yes.

Cannibalism...

There a reason why you're into that? You're causing a lot of panic amongst the populace you know.

As stated, we have no choice in the matter. It is the nature of the Atma virus.

And yes, we are well aware.

[Serph looks to his tactician; his eyes seem to be appreciative at first but the appearance fades quickly.]

...Do you feel they are capable of understanding?

They don't know of our situation. It's unlikely. As it is, some seem ready to declare war, despite my efforts.

[he's obviously frustrated by this whole scenario]
