I was going to try to make these posts every week but I unfortunately that didn't work out last week. We all ended up with the stomach flu. Can you even believe it? Thankfully it was of short duration, and we are all better now. It was a pretty good week. I was thrilled that I worked in two non-fiction books as one of my goals was to read more.

That's awesome. I'm trying to read more non-fiction myself. Am reading one now called Madness: Race and Insanity in a Jim Crow Asylum. It's about the first all Black mental institution in the US.

I've thought about reading The River of Doubt, but I'm kind of ambivalent about TR. Maybe I'll give it a try.

The History of Science Fiction sounds fascinating, though that's a lot of ground to cover in one book. It would be interesting to see which, if any, of my favorite sci-fi writers are mentioned.

I have been kind of ambivalent about TR as well, but I thought the premise was an interesting one. Plus, I had forgotten that he had gone on an exploration mission down the Amazon.

The History of Science Fiction was interesting, but you are right there was a lot of ground to cover. Being a graphic novel definitely helped.
