Fluff & Fold Report-late holiday weekend edition

Plain and simple, this has been a most uneventful week. It's even had the decency to be uneventful in a good way (in other words, it's been pleasant, not boring).

Nicole called Monday to see if she could spend the night on Tuesday. Now that she's in the vet tech program at MSU she's  living at her dad's in East Lansing. Her internship is here in ( Read more... )

my grandmother when she was younger and when they had the farm in grand rapids. Used to Can green beans, Bread and Butter Pickles and Make jams etc. Oh I was at the big lots on grand river west of orchard lake they had mason jars with lids for 5 bucks a case...
i miss home-canned goodies...
Grand mother is still alive and is 90 years old this year

If you need/want a receipe or have any questions, I can send you my mom's info (phone/email). She is still in Metamora and was thinking of making a batch this year.

The catch is you would might get an earful about how the kitchen they have in the rental is the wrong size and NOT meant for anyone who actually cooks.

Keep in mind she is about 5'2"ish and the counters are made for someone closer to 6'. Plus the galley layout and questionable stove. :-(

Tyler and I decided to try and grow something. We got this ridiculously tiny pot with sunflower seeds. We were great about tending it for like 2 weeks, then we ignored it for 2 (we were packing, getting ready for our trip, then we were on our trip) so it was ignored and left in the sun room (which gets to be about 120 degrees daily)
This past week, I've been watering it and moved it to his room in the windowsill and it just sprouted 2 days ago.

I'm very excited!
