More social than me! :Dbb

I don't get the fair skin thing either, I have three close Japanese friends here who all worry about their skin and use sun umbrellas all the time and inevitably compliment me on my pale pale studies-and-works-indoors-all-the-time complexion. I've been told once that it has something to do with geishas and nobility standards of beauty or something?

About sex: lack of experience/lack of close people comfortable talking about it around? All of my close friends have generally been inexperienced or just shy about it, and my own experience is somewhere around 0.5, so it's still kind of an embarrassing subject for me. :P

Good luck and がんばって~ on your Japanese exam! <3

:D

Well I know about Japanese people and their whiteness-fetish (you're right about the geisha btw, the idea is that someone who doesn't work in the sun has a noble person who does not have to fight or do other dirty work), but to increasingly see it on basically every other product was weird to me, seeing as I'm not in Japan yet. I'm gonna have serious problems over there, especially with my hair.

I was thinking that maybe fandom people have les of a problem with talking about sex because nearly every fandom has it as an unshaking elemt. There is always smut lurking somewhere XD Maybe I'm wrong.

Thank you so much!

Ah, that explanation makes sense. But that's weird to see skin-whitening stuff elsewhere o.o I don't know if I've ever seen any in the mainland U.S. (Honolulu is extremely Japan-influenced)... but I imagine promoting skin-whitening wouldn't go down too well there :P

Being anonymous helps a lot, I think ^^
