I definitely understand losing the job hunt drive. To be perfectly honest to someone who seems to be in about the same boat, I've just about given up for now. I've got plenty to keep me busy the next month and a half with the holidays. I still check job boards and everything, but I'm not putting the effort I was in. I just need some time to recharge. It's been six months...sigh. I'll get back into it eventually. Maybe 2010 will work out better for me? Or maybe when I'm not trying very hard anymore, I'll accidentally stumble across something. Who knows.
I hope something works out for you. ♥ Getting turned down for something you think you've gotten really sucks.
THIS exactly. Only I don't have much to keep me busy. It's been nearly four months now since I lost my job and I'm getting that "what's the point?" feeling of hopelessness. Only I really can't afford that attitude because unless something changes, I'm losing my unemployment benefits around the end of the year, and bye-bye measly $400 a month.
Getting turned down for something you think you've gotten really sucks. If by "really sucks" you mean "crushes my soul like a 10-ton load of bricks, then yes. Not only is it completely disappointing, it saps motivation to continue the hunt. ARGH.
Thank you for all the good vibes. It's nice to know it's not just me, even though it kind of makes everything suck a little bit more, you know?
Hopefully! The doctor is a gastroenterologist, so he does a lot of colonoscopies; do I really want to be around that day in and day out? I don't think so! Haha Hopefully I'll find an opportunity that doesn't involve my boss looking up people's butts all the time.
Ugh I'm sorry. I know how that can be. A lot of my friends had similar problems after we graduated. I know it sounds really trite, but I'm sure it'll work out.
That's just... really depressing. I was under the impression that a degree was supposed to help you get a job? Mine seems to be working against me right now. I know I'll land a job eventually, but "eventually" is taking a long time to get here!
