The holiday season is creeping up on me, and I still don't have a job. In my family, we make Christmas easier on "the kids" (me and my siblings, plus Geena and Dan this year) but doing a Secret Santa type thing. We draw names from a hat and set a price range for the presents. So, instead of having to buy four presents at $20 each, we only have to ( Read more... )

Your mom's birthday is on the 19th, actually. Kelly and I have our anniversary on the 17th.

WHAT IS WITH THIS FAMILY AND EVERYONE HAVING A BIRTHDAY THIS TIME OF YEAR?!? *sigh*

Shit. I love how you know my mom's birthday and I don't. STOP BEING A BETTER DAUGHTER THAN ME.

Happy soon-to-be anniversary! It's two years, right?

I DON'T KNOW. I think a slightly better question is, What's up with this family and the 15th? Seriously. Dad: February 15th. Cousin Kirian: July 15th. Me: August 15th. Grandpa: December 15th. Mom and Dad's anniversary: October 15th. I think there are a few more 15th's in there somewhere, but I can't remember.

They'd love a scrapbook, I think.

Oooooh yay. Now I just have to figure out how to get the pictures! Is there a way to compress ~1000 photos onto a CD? Or maybe I can have them bring the camera when they come down next week, and I can upload all of them on the pretext of them telling me about their trip. Hrmm...

I'm pretty sure you can stick a thousand photos on a CD.

Are you at the house right now or will you be soonish? I'd love you forever if you or Geena could do that. A DVD would probably work better than a CD. No worries if you can't; I'll just use my backup plan, which shouldn't be too bad.

That's really sweet of Dan--when we get paid three times in a month, the extra dough is just ours. It's awesome to make a point that extra money go toward making family happy.

Ya know, once I get a job I need to put aside enough money to randomly take him out some place nice. He's been so good about the money aspect of things the last few weeks, he deserves a special treat.

Secret Santa is a lifesaver. And, it's fun because you don't know who's getting you a gift so you have no idea what to expect! It's all ~mysterious~ haha.

I have more in the spring, too: three more birthdays and Valentine's Day in February alone.
