What's a good website blocking program? I need to finish up an essay in the next 2 weeks or so, and I need to do it from my own computer, but naturally there are too may distractions! Anybody know of a program that'll let me put a temporary block on all those entertaining, distracting sites for the next 14+ days ( Read more... )

I use Antisocial (I'm on a Mac).

http://anti-social.cc/

It lets me block LJ and the other fun places I hang out without blocking the entire internet, so I can still check library catalogs and news and such. It isn't free, but it was only fifteen bucks or so, and you can get a trial version with five free tries.

I believe there are more options for PC, though, so if you aren't on a Mac, you could probably save the fifteen bucks.

Heh, yeah, sadly I am Mac-less. *cuddles PC*. But thanks! It gives me a direction to start looking in. I'll find out if there are PC versions. ;)

Do you have a Mac or a PC? If you have a Mac, SelfControl is phenomenal. I'm seriously about to whip it out on myself because my lack of productivity sitting here with my computer is well past ridiculous, seriously. XP

Aww, I'm all PC'd up over here. (Hmm, sounds vaguely creepy...) Oh well. Thanks for the info! <3

Thanks! It's actually from a still frame of an episode of Chuck--one of the t-shirts in his closet. I'm prety sure he never actually wears it though. Heh.
