Note:Written in about an hour. It completely rips off a bunch of other tropes and premises that have already been done, and I throw myself upon the mercy of the court and weep in shame. SHAME.

Thanks! I figured it was bad enough I was writing this ridiculous thing--I could never live with myself if it somehow came out fluffy or whatever. *shudders*

So, wait, there are OTHER fics where Sam is reincarnated into his child self, grows up into Dean's crazy-badass hyperprotective big brother, and coolly watches his parents' marriage dissolve and his mother treat him like a dangerous animal?

Yeah, the ones I was thinking about were definitely fluffy. So I had to try to make it as unfluffy as possible. I had to, I tells ya!

This was really interesting. I liked the bitterness and grittiness of it, how at the end, Sam was putting on a big brother smile and they were making it work.

Thanks! I really wanted to distance it as much as possible from fics where John and Mary being alive = perfect world and happy ending. And I like the idea of big brother!Sam as some kind of delinquent. XD
