notes on sleeping
It seems to me that if one was writing about Dean and Benny in Purgatory, a major aspect of their journey would be that at night, it would make sense to sleep in shifts.
I don't know why this doesn't makes it into more fics (not just Purgatory fics--I've noted this in a lot of other stories and it always seems weird and jarring)--it's pretty standard in fantasy stories about people traveling through a hostile wilderness. People sleep in shifts.
It seems strange and unrealistic to imagine that you have two people in an environment like that, and they would go to sleep at the same time. Why take a risk like that?
