It's sort of a tilt-shift for your life when you assume you're not even a main character

Actually it'll happen about once every couple months or so that I'll be out walking around or something and looking around at people wondering if any of them are Main Characters, and they're on some kind of adventure or involved in some complex and suspenseful plot or trying to rescue somebody or uncover some amazing, world-shaking secret. Well, you're not alone in that. Sometimes I sit and people watch and wonder/pretend who is actually on a big adventure and fighting aliens or spies or on the hunt for lost treasurer...

It's cool, right? Like there could be this whole vast story happening all around us and we'll never even know.

Occasionally I make meta-commentary, just in case this is all happening in a book someplace.

Well if we really are in a book/movie/radio play then whoever wrote it probably isn't very original with the characterization. ;)

It's madness! Or...something. Today I heard that it's possible that the past crystallizes out of the future by way of the present so frankly being characters in somebody else's adventure is way less weird.
