Beta?

Jun 04, 2012 14:21

Hmm. So I wrote some Avengers fic--just because I really wanted something with Banner about reverse culture shock and living abroad and epidemic outbreaks and stuff. I'm thinking it might need a beta--just a quick pass for glaring issues, since it's a first fic in this fandom. Anybody up for that? Or maybe just helping me figure out a title? It's ( Read more... )

I'd offer, but I'm not Avengers-literate nor a better writer than you! (And I'm busy as all hell.) BUT I WILL READ WHEN IT'S SHINY. Yes.

Well it's more based on fannish speculation than the movie particulars. Mostly I just need a second set of eyes to make sure I haven't done anything majorly stupid with it. But I'll be sure to let you know when I've got the shiny on.

Thank ya! I actually thought about using it as a userpic when I made the illustration, so I could get everyone in and it would still make sense...this time...

That would be very helpful! I'm supposed to be working on my essay, so I'm going to send it to you now in the hopes that I'll stop musing on it and maybe get to work.(Ahahahaha -_-;)

Later is better, this stupid paper needs to get done and if you send it to me early I'll just work on that instead. Do it when it's convenient for your schedule! <3!

I can see I'm super late to the beta train, so instead I'll just be a cheerleader and say I can't wait to read it!

It's kinda like..YA fic? I dunno, the way I wrote it is much simpler due to the fact that it's a larger fandom with lots more young people.

Hi. I just friended you, because this is the kind of Avengers fic I've been waiting to read. Also, because you're obviously awesome.

:o)

Oh hey! I really enjoyed and recently recced your fic 'A Fine Spur' to a couple folks--I was very impressed and it was probably the best thing I'd read in this fandom, or very close to the top of the list, anyway. I've waded through a lot of material but intelligent stuff like that is thin on the ground. I'm pleased you enjoyed my foray into Avengers-dom. It's always a bit weird joining a new fandom, and hearing positive feedback from someone I've already come to respect means a lot. <3!

Hi! That's so cool! Thanks.

I was going to say your fic was the best thing I've read in this fandom, too, but I didn't, because I didn't want to sound like I was dissing everything. I've read some great stuff! Just, no one seems to have been writing what I really want to read. I can totally be shippy as the next person, shippier than many, but Avengers just pressed a lot of my gen buttons, and what I really want to read is Bruce/paaaaaaaaaaain. And instead I keep finding fluffy!Bruce. Or angsty Bruce, but his main issue seems to be his sex life. I really appreciated the thought you put into what it must be like for Bruce to be in America. I think the third world aspect of his character really interests me, I mean, especially in contrast to just how first world the entire movie is.

Anywhoodle, totally agree on joining new fandoms. Lots of times I just hover on the edges and never find what I'm looking for and eventually drift away. But your fic was awesome, your journal looked awesome, so yay, friends!

Well part of the inspiration for this was living abroad for a couple years--it was a developed nation, but still coming back to the states was a real head-trip. I still can't walk into a Wal-Mart without getting depressed. *shivers*

I want something dealing with this third-world stuff and something about Tony's issues too--my favorite part of both Iron man movies together is the time he spent in that cave. If I can think of a way to have them both in a setting where they have to live at the very edges of themselves in extreme, not-plush conditions, I'll totally write it.

Well anyway, welcome to my weird little corner of LJ. Hope it'll at least be entertaining! ;)
