And this, Jesus.... One night he wakes up and Sam’s there, sitting in a chair with his head in his hands. His hair falls down and Dean can’t see his face.

He doesn’t breathe, in case Sam lifts his head and he doesn’t have one.

Really just gorgeous and heartbreaking. Oh, oh Dean....

Yay! I feel kinda weird saying 'thanks' seeing as how messed up this fic is, but I'm glad that it made an impact, and rang true. I wish we'd see something of the impact this life has had on Dean (as we've had with Sam now). Keeping my fingers crossed.

Good job. I HAD to finish it and as much as i like happy endings there just couldn't be one here. Life isn't that easy.

I'm glad this was worthwhile, even if it was difficult to finish. I'm not much for writing happy endings but I think given the constraints of memefic length and the nature of the events, this ending is as positive as could be hoped. They're together, and they're chasing freedom and some sort of recovery. *sighs wistfully* Now if only we could get something like that on the show....
