Love Is Sweet The Second Time Around

Well, it's not actually love. It's more like a serious crush. When I was in high school, I loved Boys II Men, and they were tearing up the charts in the 90's and then they kind of seemed to fade away. Their music is timeless and if they had released their major hits today, they would still be chart-toppers. Anyway, I went with my cousin to their ( Read more... )

I saw Boys II Men recently on Tyra. The combination of the wonky audio on stage and their 40's Motown moves was a bit painful to watch. Wanya has ballooned up considerably and was struggled singing but Shawn was pretty much his awesome songbird self. They really do represent such a distinct time period in life, don't they.

Yep, Wanya was a sweaty mess last night. His entire shirt was covered in this massive sweat stain and there were people backstage waiting with towels to wipe him down. But their voices were still pretty strong. Shawn has pretty much stayed the same. He's probably married. At one point a woman almost dragged him off stage, so I was kinda embarrassed for him. I kept asking my cousin if I could just take him home. We had space in the trunk.

The music of the youth is always the best. Same happening here. I´m listening all through my 80´s, 90´s rock CD´s and i just love it. So much better than the recent stuff they play on TV. I´m glad you had fun at the concert. I guess i will never see my favorite band in it´s original cast again since my fave member left the band 10 years ago. He´s still working with them every now and then but i don´t have hope he will go on tour with the others. And if he does, probably not in Europe. *sigh*
Boys II Men were never so popular over here and to be honest, i rememember their name but couldn´t name a single song.

One of the members of Boys II Men left the band a few years ago because of health reasons so I totally understand. It's just not the same.
