Every time a disorder/syndrome/mental difficulty is focussed on...

Dear Christ, in the last few weeks, I've been seething.

Here. My annoyances. Let me show you them.

The world is full of idiots, baby. Don't let them get you down. Gavs is beautiful and special and unique and always will be, and the rest of the world can fuck off. *hugs*

Oh no, I know. I'm not bummed. Just sooo annoyed with people who think it's "cool". Ya, okay. *eyeroll*
*squeeze* Thank you, sunshine!

I think that a lot of people just don't want to deal with the reality of diseases or handicaps...They just couldn't so they take all sort of "detour" or short cut ... And sometimes it's just plain ... irritating?
Well, in my job I often see that... and don't know the mend...
*hugs tight*

Autism isn't a "cool" thing to have.
I 'only' have asperger's...and it doesn't feel cool most of the time. I must admit, however, that I did bother everyone about it when I first got diagnosed. just because it was such a huge relief to know. things made sense for the first time in my life. So, I can to some extend understand when people kee going on about it.

People who think it's cool must be truly ignorant though - and I don't think they'd run around saying it was some new great disorder to have if they really knew what autism was like. they probably have too much free time. *hugs*

All the best for you and Gavs.
And I think you are a very cool mum, for loving your son so much :)

That is CLASSIC of Asperger's to do that, y'know. My husband does it... a LOT, lol, and I can do it too. I've gotta make an appointment to a specialist on it myself--but I always put it off. LOL.
Thank you for your love... I try t be a good mum for my bum!

By the way, your son is gorgeous :D

And I understand about the ignorance thing.
Its like when I say Lexi (my sister) has Downs, I get 'aww Im sorry for you' or 'I didnt know' or just plain silence. Its not like she is diseased shes still a perfectly wonderfully normal pain in the bum.

Aw... 'perfectly wonderful pain in the bum'... aren't we ALL?? Lol! *hugs*
It's true on all counts. People judge too much by their own reactions and what THEY think is good or bad... or they think it's GOOD, when it's NOT good or bad.
Oh, I blather...
