...some of Hanson's Snowed In CD. :D

(What? You know it's true! Even Jennie Nye agrees. ;-D)

celtic_fish showed interest in the album so I uploaded it for her and anyone else who would like some additional Christmas cheer this month:

I put this on while I was building a powerpoint, and I have to admit, it's really really good. I don't give Hanson much credit as a general rule, probably due to being a young 20-something in an existential crisis when MMMBop came out. I'm thinking I need to re-evaluate that opinion. Also, half of what makes or breaks a Christmas album for me is which songs they chose and the overall tempo, and this is just happy, bake cookies and wrap presents kind of music. Good stuff!

Thanks again for uploading it for me. <3

One of the random tweets that has stayed with me months after seeing it was someone saying, after looking at the talent of teen pop stars these days, it's really apparent we gave Hanson a bad rep back in the 90s. The album is just full of light happy fun songs; there are a few slower ones, but even in them there's a level of jazz influence that makes them more upbeat. (13 years of making records and they're still doing that whole "riffing on a part of the song for three minutes at the end" thing.)

Freshman year of college both my roommates and I, though we were starkly different in a lot of ways, all loved Hanson. We moved in and unpacked to Middle of Nowhere and packed up for the holidays to Snowed In. (It drove the rest of the floor crazy!)

No problem! Glad I could share it with you. :)
