The moon looks nearly full. And the supernatural eccentricities seem to be back.

[She considers, thoughtfully- but ever blunt, is this particular Victorian spinster.]

Are the werewolves present without clavigers? If so, how is the "full moon inconvenience" handled?

can be helpful, see it wasn't my fault, for science!

I go into the Wastes with him and keep him under control in my Animagus form. No one has ever been in danger because of him.

[... oddly specific.]

I did not mean to imply things were handled improperly.

An "Animagus" form?

[Instead of explaining, he transforms into his Animagus form to give her a good demonstration. Say hello to Padfoot, Alexia.]

Why... you aren't a wolf!

[Wah.]

... magic isn't an eccentricity.

I have used it in the definition of "deviating from the norm".

[She could have been smoother, though.]

Though if you have ever met those of the supernatural inclination in my world, you would likely use the same term.

[... but there's a sneaking suggestion of a smile at the corners of her lips.]

O-oh, I see...

Is it... really that bad, there? Are there a lot of people you would consider eccentric?

"Eccentric" is only a negative term when one is afraid of anything different from themselves.

[She does smile, now. Come on, Negi.]

[This particular werewolf is wrapped up in a blanket on the couch, looking quite cranky, indeed.]

How observant.

..."Clavigers"?

[She's definitely reminded of Professor Lyall, that look of quiet, subdued harassment.]

Clavigers. Servants, kept by an established pack or even Loners. Human, to be sure, but well-trained to keep their masters safe and contained.

Masters and servants.

[He scoffs at that.]

Sickening.

On what terms?

[It confuses her that he'd jump to that.]

At this point, I imagine I should no longer be surprised.

By anything in particular, Madame?

I have been introduced to forms of life, here, that belong solely in books and folklore.

Wizards and the like, yes. Though I am accustomed to werewolves and vampires.

Large and Scottish, and eccentric and fashionable, respectively.

What's a werewolf?

A werewolf supernatural being, once a human, that has gained the ability to shift into a large wolf. Though they are normally human, during the full moon the change is uncontrollable.

I am Alexia Tarabotti. How do you do?
