Writer's Block: The Kids' Section

I LOVED The Sound of Music! I used to pretend that those kids were MY kids. It is still one of my favorites - the music is amazing. I also think that the Baroness is one of the most gorgeous women alive! That dress at the dance - wow!

One of my other favorites was The Muppets Take Manhattan. I haven't watched it for a while but it is still one of my ( Read more... )

The Sound of Music and Muppets are soooo classic, people of all ages love them.
Did your Sound of Music make-believe ever involve running up-hill and spinning in circles? *The hills are alive...* (I couldn't have been the only one doing that!)

You were not the only one! But I bet I can top you...did you ever turn your bike upside-down and weave yarn in the spokes while pretending it was a spinning wheel when watching Sleeping Beauty? ;-)

No, I didn't do that. *LOL*
But when my sister was 3 or 4 (and could she never remember movie titles, The Little Mermaid ="The Ariel Under the Sea," Snow White="Dopey Movie," & Sleeping Beauty="Dead Princess") used to take all the unused blankets she could find, layer them fastidiously on the couch, then pretend to sleep. I asked her what she was doing and she said, "Shh, I'm Dead Princess."

As a rule I dislike musicals, PotO and The Sound of Music being the exceptions. ;-D

My old journal header had the quote "girls in white dresses and blue satin sashes" and a painting to match. ;-P

Those are two of the best musicals! I also like Oklahoma quite a bit.

I loved your old layout! That is one of my favorite songs, too!

The Sound of Music was on my top 5 list growing up. When I first watched it at age 8, I would dream that I was Bregitta...then I grew up a little bit and then dreamed about being Louisa, finally I graduated to dreaming that I was Maria. ^_^

The Muppets freaked me out as a kid. Miss Piggy gave me nightmares...I still get kind of creaped out by the muppets. :/

I am starting to think of her in a whole new way now! I still think she's pretty hilarious. ;-)

I was always either Liesl or Maria but mainly Maria!

Really? I can see where they might be scary. Animal kind of freaked me out but I loved Miss Piggy!
