Kurt, already holding up a particularly tawdry boa, threw a look over his shoulder at Finn and smiled. He shouldn't find himself amused by the boy's eternal cluelessness, the trait was inherent, but he'd be damned if it wasn't charming. "Clothes, mostly, and I can't promise that no one would object if you turned up in your birthday suit." He threw the boa over his shoulder and bent down to examine a mask, thumbing at the sequins, and considered drawing out Finn's confusion, momentarily tempted by the farcical musing, before deciding it'd be far too cruel.

That, and he'd honestly rather get on with the 'no, Finn, sea green does not go with princeton orange' part of the evening.

"A masquerade is a costumed event with masks, hence masqu-erade. Try to think Phantom of the Opera or the Renaissance; sequins, glitter, gold, feathers, tulle ruff." Kurt put the mask down and began examining a lace and silk neckpiece, his thumb and index finger loosely wrapped around his chin. It was baffling, really, to think that a Beast in breeches had ( ... )

Finn understood most of what Kurt had said, and thanks to the visual aid he was getting a better picture in his head. He had to admit, he didn't know how the image made him feel just yet, but discomfort was probably in there at least a little. That, and amusement. People in the Renaissance dressed like clowns ( ... )

This castle was too darn bigIt beat the caravan, though. The moment the thing stopped moving, she jumped ship like it was the Titanic about to sink. The feel and smell of some fresh air was amazing, something she never wanted to take for granted again. She didn't have much time to enjoy it, however, because after checking her Junogam for any updates, she saw the Beast's post. She was in that castle in a flash ( ... )

"Finn, that is about the gaudiest--," Kurt stopped mid-sentence, head turned to the very out-of-breath Emma Pillsbury who, damn it all, he'd completely failed to make any form of communication with since their release. Lucky for them, Emma wasn't exactly one to 'flip her shit', or involve herself with any kind of excrement, so he could be thankful that they'd skip a lecture, at least ( ... )

Oh crap, Miss Pillsbury. How had they forgotten to tell her they were okay?

He hoped they could chalk that one up to boyish impulsiveness like most of the other stupid things he did. It was this impulsiveness that allowed him to do what Finn could only assume Kurt was longing to do. (Longing was an expression Finn was accustomed to seeing in Kurt, so it was easy for him to identify. It was just that unlike most times, this time he wasn't ignoring it.)

The longing Kurt seemed to be experiencing was for a hug. And to be completely honest, Finn kind of wanted one too. So, laughing a little too coarsely than necessary for Kurt's comment, he tossed the pants away and crossed the room in two giant steps, scooping Miss Pillsbury up in a big, squeezey hug. "Oh my God is it good to see a friendly face!" After a few gleeful moments he blinked and turned to Kurt, holding out an arm. "Come on, man, you too!"

Everyone needed a hug in this place.
