True to form, she walked in looking like someone would stab her at any minute, and honestly, that's what she was half expecting. She kept her hands clasped tightly in front of her, her gaze flickering all around to spot any threats. It seemed calm enough at the moment, however, so she managed to relax a bit.
Still, oh gosh, she was there to learn how to fight. Or defend herself. Yes, she nodded firmly, defend herself sounded much better. Far less violent, at least. But she knew it was something she needed to do if she was going to stop letting people walk all over her. Maybe. But imagine how much she could throw someone off if she could drop kick them like that, or knock them out by only touching a pressure point? For a second, she imagined doing that to Sue, but then quickly scolded herself. Even if it might be a little funny ( ... )

Which meant this was his territory. A few others had said they'd be willing to help teach, but most of them hadn't sounded like the most patient of people, and he figured it would be in everyone's best interest if he took on the newbies and the most nervous ones and left them to handle intermediate students or those who seemed to be getting the hang of things faster. It may have been almost sixty years in the past, but X remembered learning to fight for the first time, and how much he'd hated every minute of it. It had been necessary, and so he'd stuck with it, but he didn't enjoy it.
He approached her, putting on his friendliest smile. "Good afternoon."

It was too late to back down now, though. Or was it? Maybe she could make an excuse and run out? Emma glanced at the exit as if she was contemplating that idea. Then her brows knotted. She realized that she was already giving up on herself. There was something else that needed to be worked on.
"So, um. Yeah. I'm Miss Pillsbury. I guess you can, um, tell what I'm here for." She looked down at herself, straightening her skirt before looking back at X. "I hope I've...I'm not sure if I'm, um, dressed appropriately, but...well, I'm ready for anything." She hoped so, at least.

"A skirt might make things a little tricky, but I don't think we'll be doing anything too fancy on day one, so for now I think you'll be fine." X wasn't so much prioritizing teaching complex martial arts maneuvers as he was teaching everyone how to flip an attacker over their back, hit a pressure point, and give themselves an opening to get clear, anyway.

She crossed her arms and leaned against the wall, waiting for the more seasoned fighters to approach her. Either that or someone who knew what she was capable of, and knew just how much they could handle.

Uncrossing her arms, she casually leaned her hand on her hip and responded. "Not so strange when you just think of this as another training session for the people who need it."

The clubs back at Seitohkoh never put them down, either. He could take out every single national tournament-winning team they had from any club. American football, basketball, baseball, judo, kendo, karate, you name it. They've probably been sent at one time or another to procure Kazuki from the arcade and paid dearly for it. The teenage boy was just looking for someone to assess his general level and improve on what he already knew, or share what he learned with some newbies if he was good enough.
