He glanced up from his gloomy contemplation of his damp feet and shins -- his wet shoes and socks were currently laid out next to his coat and fedora, both of which were also damp with foul-smelling river water -- and took the towel with his left hand.

"Thanks a lot -- I appreciate it." He set to one-handedly toweling the moisture out of his hair, leaving his right arm laying loosely and somewhat awkwardly in his lap. "I guess this means you're Gauche Suede. Nice to meet you in person."

"It's not a problem at all. I'm just glad that you're all right, and I had the means to help." There's a quick glance around to check for anyone else that might need help, but it was fairly quiet now that the worst was over. Perhaps everyone else is fine. He hoped no one got too roughed up. Even he only had a sore hip and shoulder from where he was jostled into a wall.

"The pleasure's mine. Strange that we'd meet like this, though." He gave his roommate a warm smile and tilted his head lightly, offering a hand. "Would you like a hand back to wherever you've been staying?"

The offer was almost to return to their room, but he managed to catch himself in time. You can't return if you've never been somewhere, right?

He shook his head and leaned forward to use the towel on his feet and legs -- taking care as he did so not to pull on the (currently too-loose) stitches holding his right arm together. "Thanks for the offer, but I'm actually meeting my partner here, so I'd better stay."

He glanced up with a faint ghost of a smile and gave a one-shouldered shrug. "I haven't really been 'staying' anywhere, anyway. I don't sleep, so I usually wander around during the nights." By now, there wasn't an open corner of the caravan he hadn't explored during the hours of darkness -- although thankfully he'd mostly managed to avoid running into anyone and startling them.

"Ah, then I suppose you should. I'm not used to the light of the sun, so I've been mostly active at night and in the evenings as well."

The young man shifts his weight from one bare foot to the other, a bit awkwardly. His skills in keeping up conversation were sorely lacking, considering he usually traveled with a dog that-- obviously-- couldn't talk.

"Maybe you wouldn't mind some company then? I don't think that anyone should be alone in case anything else happens."
