Sakura was, in all terms of the word; bored out of her skull. She was completely drained, up until the previous night when she'd finally gotten some sleep. Hell, she'd nodded off almost as soon as her head hit the pillow. Something she hadn't been able to achieve since arriving. Now though, she was restless ( ... )

Well, speak of the devil.

Akamaru immediately rose to his paws, tail wagging while a low, welcoming whine rumbled out of the canine's threat. Kiba shot the dog a brief, annoyed look that quickly changed into a smoldering sort of glare as he turned his head to stare over at Sakura. His grimace deepened.

"Yeah, well?" he said, tone mirroring his current mood. "You still ticked, or what? Found dear Sasuke-kun yet?"

Sakura gave a fleeting smile to the tail-wagging mutt next to the boy, despite everything. She wasn't mad at Akamaru. Just his stupid-headed partner. She might even have been willing to give this a chance, to maybe get over it or something. But Kiba just had to go and open his fat mouth.

A familiar scowl settled onto the girl's features, hurt washing out the background of her eyes. And oh how she stomped, right on up towards him, the menace palpable enough to taste. "You need to learn to keep your mouth shut. It had nothing to do with you, alright?" She pointed a finger at his chest, arms shaking with something dangerous. Rage, maybe.

"What do you mean 'it has nothing to do with me?'" Kiba responded, his voice a low growl as he rose quickly to his feet, throwing an accusatory look Sakura's way. "Like hell it doesn't, Sakura. Sure, some of it is your own business. Some of it, not all of it. Like it or not, you made it my business the moment you asked me to help you with your little Sasuke-hunting project. You made it Lee's. You even made it Sai's. We were a team, and we were supposed to work like one, until you got it into your head to go off and play hero." He didn't even begin to mention Sai. He didn't trust Sai, and couldn't care less about him under the current circumstances ( ... )
