Characters: Aerith Gainsborough, Link Setting/Location: District 1; inn. Date & Time: Day 0, not long after waking! Warnings: none Summary: Link's injured, Aerith offered to heal him. Pretty straightforward, right?
[Link looked up at the sound of knocking, and carefully raised himself from the bed. He looked back somewhat disdainfully at the stained bedsheets, vowing firmly to wash them somewhere later before heading over to the door. He was a little worried that he might scare the nice lady willing to help him, in his state, but he hoped that she wouldn't be too worried or anything.
He reached up and twisted the doorknob, suppressing a wince as his arm ached, and he pulled the door open with a soft click to peer out.]
[The smile Aerith was wearing dropped in a flash as she realized two things -- one, the extent of the damage, and two -- how young this boy was. She knelt down so that she was eye level with him, assessing the wounds. A part of her was worried simple cure spells wouldn't be enough.]
What happened?! [Without waiting for an answer, she steered him back toward the bed so he could sit comfortably. She was no stranger to impromptu healing -- Cloud and the others made sure of that. Aerith grabbed a towel quickly before setting herself down in front of him, dabbing off the excess blood and then raising her hand towards the cuts, letting the cure spell do its job.]
This might take a while. [She glanced back up at him with no small amount of worry. She tried her question again, realizing she never gave him a chance to answer before.] How did you get this hurt?
[He was fairly confused in the matter of moments it took to open the door and somehow find himself back over by the bed. He saw a pretty lady with green eyes, who asked him a question and then proceeded to send him in the opposite direction again-- he simply blinked at her in surprise, unsure of what to think about the sudden bout of concern.
He wasn't very happy that he was making her worry, but maybe if he sat nice and still he could make up for it a little. He did start accidentally, however, once she began healing his cuts. He was unable to keep his shock hidden, then; he hadn't met anyone with that power before, let alone the average nice lady! Wondering in bewilderment just who the woman was, he continued to watch with widened eyes. To try and dispel her worry, he raised on hand and waved it dismissively, expressing in simple terms that it wasn't too important, and a bit of a long story regardless.]
[Aerith continued to work on the wounds -- there were a lot, but she was patient. She'd need bandages for some of them, but she could at least close most of them now, before they got infected. There was no reason to hurt a boy like this!]
Don't want to tell me? I guess I can understand...When someone hurts you really badly, it's hard to talk about. [She used her cure spell again as she spoke, noticing the way the boy's eyes lit up in wonder. She smiled at him, a little amused at his surprise.]
You've never seen someone use magic before? [It was an unusual reaction, as most children in Midgar at least knew the concept of materia.]
