At least he had his soul slayer with him. Balancing it over his shoulder, he made his way around and began to get himself familiar with the place, ignoring the dense atmosphere. He hadn't noticed a lot of happy campers... and checking out the area designated for training, he didn't think things'd be looking up anytime soon, either.
At least, he figured a lady shooting targets with focus like that had to be put off about something. "Yo. You zonin' out for a reason or what?"

"What does it matter to you?...and don't call me 'yo.'"
She flipped her gunblade over, activating it's bladed side while reversing the barrel away to collapse under itself, forming the hilt of her weapon. There was little to no pause in her actions as she walked to one of the storage closets, rummaging around for another target. She had him in her periphery vision though, and she eyed his posture, his appearance, and his...strange looking sword. Was that a sword? They certainly never made that brand or model back in Cocoon--but that was to be expected when everyone was coming from different places.
She couldn't help but wonder if he was a decent fighter, but something about his relaxed, slouched body language made her doubt it.

He leaned back against the door frame as she went rummaging, shifting the blade of his slayer pointing downwards, tip touching the floor. The room was equipped well enough but that Cid Amon guy would probably have a job on his hands simply from having to restock it too.
"Doesn't make a difference, even if it matters, huh?" He had to crack a grin at that kind of attitude. "What's your name, then?"

She grunted as she pulled another training dummy from out of the pile and maneuvered it to the center of the room. It was almost the size of an average male, maybe a bit bigger--but it was equally heavy as it was big and while Lightning had always been fit, dragging him across the floor wasn't as easy as she'd want it to be.
Her eyes darted back to him, wondering if he was just here to watch or if he was actually going to do something worthwhile.
"Lightning. And who are you?"

Farron-san,
My name is Sei Satou, and I saw we've been roomed together. If you have a moment, may I stop by where you are and say hello? I thought it might better to meet up before tonight.
Sei read the message over again and nodded. She didn't really mind sharing a room, but it might be awkward to simply show up and try to go to sleep. Especially with bunk beds.
She hit send.

I'm in the training room on the third level. I'll be here for the next hour or so.
Lightning had paused her training to answer the message, and looked dubiously at the screen for several moments before managing a reply. She had her doubts about what kind of person she'd be rooming with, god knew she would never be fortunate enough to be stuck with someone who was quiet, rational and tolerable. She hadn't even gone to see her room yet, having made a straight beeline for the training room after her initial investigations of the caravan.
She just couldn't help the nagging feeling that this would end badly. The only person she had ever shared a room with was Serah, and even that was strained because she valued her personal space too much. That, and Serah tended to be quite messy.
Sighing, she prepared herself for one more round against the training dummy before Sei arrived, mentally steeling herself to meet the new stranger.

She should probably know better than to say "never" by now, she figured. The fact that the universe had a sense of humor was driven even further home when she actually got to the training room and saw who was there.
Sei slid inside the door, leaning against the wall and waiting for what looked like a good moment to say something. She had a feeling this conversation was going to go badly, but there wasn't anything she could do about that.
"Hello, Farron-san," she said when Lightning seemed to finish. She bowed politely, then straightened with a smile. "My name is Sei Satou."

Lightning stood straight when she finished though, reaching for a towel to wipe any dust or debris off her gunblade before she snapped it shut, tucking it in the holster behind her.
"You."
There was no malice in her voice, no accusation, just a blunt weight to it as she recognized Sei from the other day. It could have been worse. From what she had gathered of the other woman, she wasn't stupid, just playful, and while that in itself could be a test of Lightning's patience, she would learn soon enough just how much to push her luck.
There was no need for re-introductions since they were both familiar with each others names, so Lightning walked toward her, wondering just how to handle the situation.
"Have you gone up to the room yet?"
Reply
"Hey," She called out, "You have room for one more?"
Like she cared if Lightning told her one way or the other, she was going to do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted anyway.

"Help yourself."
She busied herself with emptying out the shells but she was listening for any further sounds on Trish's part. The caravan was filled with a myriad of strange people and while Lightning wasn't keen on getting buddy-buddy with any of them, it was always a smart idea to know who you were dealing with.
