Beginning recorder

Recommendations of music books for learning to play the recorder? Has anyone used Oak Meadow's book? (I've never bought anything from OM.) Other books you used and loved/hated?

This is for my 7yo as a first-time learner and also for reteaching myself to read music and play it again.

I did not care for Oak Meadow. Its waaaaay too short.

I like either Sweet Pipes. (If you've got someone who's independent)

Or, the one I really like is Living Music from the Heart found here:http://homemusicmaking.blogspot.com/
It teaches the Penny Whistle instead of the recorder, but the basic notes are the same and it comes with a DVD to walk Mom through the lesson before Mom turns around and teaches child.

We just picked up Mel Blanc's beginning recorder book from a local music store. $5 and it got us pretty darn far! :)
