political message aside, I'm intrigued by the way the video is done. Animation isn't very common anymore- I don't think I've seen a video that unique since Radiohead did Paranoid Android. An interesting juxtaposition of images.

I don't think animation was ever that common. What about Gorillaz?

it never was that common-that's the point. But even its stylings are very different-very dark tones, and a blending of video and animation. Its very thoughtful at least. As far as the Gorillaz, I dont think I've ever seen that video. But I am suddenly thinking of Blur's Coffee and TV video and how much I love that.

But you said animation isn't common anymore, which implies that it was common at one time.

Coffee & TV wasn't 100% animation, so I don't think that counts. It's in the CG relam, which would cover most videos today (I'm guessing; I actually don't see any videos these days. MTV is unwatchable and VH1 is getting there).

I'm trying to think of all the animated videos over the past 5 years, and all I can come up with is Gorillaz (3 or 4 for them), Pearl Jam's "Do The Evolution," Radiohead's "Pyramid Song," and that's all I got. I tried a Google search, but the signal to noise ration is far too high.
