Meal Plan Monday

Oct 29, 2007 09:12

We are moving into the "diverse and interesting" portion of meal planning as I have basically stopped grocery shopping for anything other than fresh fruit, vegetables, milk and the occasional loaf of bread. I'm trying to work out of my freezer and pantry to help reduce the amount of things we need to move. (OMG THREE WEEKS!).

Meal Plan for 10/29 through 11/4 )

Monday
Comuting - Husband's problem.
Tuesday
Comuting - Husband's problem.
Wednesday
Red Peppers stuffed with mushrooms, cheese and almonds (the vegetarian option for the week) on rice with whatever salad veg is in the fridge.
Thursday
Comuting - Husband's problem.
Friday
Sausage Casserole, potatoes (possibly roasted) and roasted root vegetables - big roleplaying session (6 adults) plus 4 ancilliary children, stew is ideal for this sort of thing, feeds lots and is pretty robust for the vagaries of people's "arrival time"
Saturday
Salmon with pecarino topping, with steamed potatoes and veg.
Sunday
A Roast, probably beef, with Roast potates and steamed broccoli

Our protein this week is a Honeybaked Ham!

Monday - Hubby and DS#1 to soccer practice - oven-barbecued ribs, succotash
Tuesday - WFH, doctor, go to stoneyard to select the bathroom countertop - stuffed pumpkin?
Wednesday - WFH, Halloween - the Bacon Rice Bowl from this month's Rachael Ray mag, made with ham instead
Thursday - soccer practice? Groceries by this time, for sure, so... - FISH
Friday - Arlyn to birthday party, soccer exhibition - fast food!
Saturday - soccer pictures and tournament - crockpot of pea or bean soup, biscuits

I almost invited myself over for dinner too! She'd better be careful, posting enticing menus like that, that we don't find out where she lives...

Roomie made fabulous broccoli soup, so there will be broccoli soup and crusty bread in our future for most of the week. She's working tonight, so I'll probably have soup when I get home from working out. Ditto tomorrow. Weds. she's out, so I may do a food-in-box (I got one of those Healthy Choice Steamers that I want to try out). Thurs. we have theater tickets, so we'll be eating out. Friday we may order in Thai or Chinese. And the weekend is too far away to think about yet (why, yes, it is that sort of week).
