Do the common LJ posting clients work with it and/or do they offer their own clients? I loathe using web interfaces for posting.

Many do, although not all the features work perfectly, depending on the client and the features. I did some testing with Mac clients initially and found several that I could have used (I used to be an offline-client-only person, but I got used to online post interfaces with WordPress, and DW will be offering scheduled posting like WP in the near future). I'm not familiar with Windows LJ clients, but there's a somewhat out-of-date compatibility list for LJ clients in general here:

They had at least one Google Summer of Code student working on an offline client (and one on a mobile client), so there should be something in the nearish future. I imagine I will post about it when there is!

took the 3rd one. Claimed the name. This is actually a permanent account, but ..... I've had it long enough that it's paid for itself.
