16. [multi + stock] January update

Overdue January icon update coming your way! It wasn't the most productive month - not even close - because the stress from work kills my muse. I don't even know how, I ended up making a bunch of stock icons that aren't particularly good but whose pics I liked. I hadn't made stock icons in forever.

Gorgeous icons. I'm happy that you're making more stock icons, because I've a thing for them. So many of them are my favorites, especially icons 2, 3, 17, 18 , 19.

Also, I agree with magicrubbish! I think you should make more stock icons! This batch is lovely! You did such a good job with the purples, and I adore the coffee icon! Definitely saving that one!

I really enjoyed doing the icon battle with you! It was so much fun! I adore the coloring on the first Susan icon, and the composition of the second Susan icon! ^^ The black and white Natasha icon is sooo pretty, and I love the coloring of the Cap icon.

Aww, thank you. I wasn't too sure about those remakes because I sometimes just can't avoid making them the same way, haha.

I'll take that suggestion into consideration :) I do like stock icons but I sometimes feel as if I should do more with them (more texture work, more dramatic lighting). I went a bit more simplistic this time, with subtler lighting and focusing on color and I like them a lot. So happy you're having that one! I liked it a bunch myself.

Thank you so much! I also had a ton of fun :) I don't think I'd ever iconed Narnia (I'd have to check my old comm from the old journal's days) so it was fun. Like I said, I loooooved your blue Susan icon but in case I didn't say it before, the coloring in the Natasha and other Susan icons is so pretty, and the texture work in the Cap icon is lovely. ♥

OOoh, so lovely! I like what you did with the remakes. The complementary coloring in the SW icon is gorgeous, and I love how you solved the "bad eyes" problem in the CJ icon. Those are the things nobody can know when they ask you to remake things. :D

The partner battle icons are gorgeous, I wish i had participated in it. The stock icons are impressive, they all really pop, both from the coloring and the crop/motifs.

Thank you so much! ♥ Remakes are tricky in that I unconsciously try to replicate the old icon in some way (it almost happened with the SW one) but they're ultimately really fun to make. And you're right about the eyes thing! No one could possibly have known, heh. It's probably not super obvious at icon size but whenever I cut the screencap, it jumped out and annoyed me, haha.

There should be another in a couple of months! It was a great experience even if the time crunch (having just two (maybe three?) weeks to agree with your partner and decide on everything and make it was a tad stressful, haha.

And thank you again for your lovely words on the stock icons! I think it all came down to finding some pics that inspired me and trying to not overdo them. I'll probably try to do another batch in a few weeks/months, haha :D
